The deadline to register or re-register to vote for any election is 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before that election. If you submit an application after this time, your application will still be processed for future elections.

- The last four digits of your social security number and
- Your date of birth.
If you do not have a California driver license or California identification card, you can still use this form to apply to register to vote by completing the online interview by 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before an election.

Who is Eligible to Register
Anyone who is a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older on or before the date of the election, a resident of California, not found by a court to be mentally incompetent, and is not in prison, on parole, serving a state prison sentence in county jail, serving a sentence for a felony pursuant to subdivision (h) of Penal Code Section 1170, or on post release community supervision may register to vote.

Military and Overseas Voter Registration
Uniformed service members or US citizens outside the country should complete an online application.
In order to register to vote as a military or overseas voter a person must meet the above eligibility requirements and on of the following:
Be in the military or a spouse or dependent of someone in the military or armed services. Be overseas temporarily or by virtue of employment. Be overseas indefinitely.
Who Needs to Register
You must re-register to vote by completing a new Voter Registration form if you change your mailing address or residence address. You must also re-register if you change your name.Deadline to Register to Vote
A Voter Registration form must be completed, signed, dated and postmarked or delivered no later than 29 days before an election to receive a Voter Information Pamphlet, and other important election information.
Voters who register between 29 and 15 days before an election will not receive a Voter Information Pamphlet, but they will receive a postcard notifying them of their polling place.
